Create a breathtaking glass-on-glass mosaic masterpiece! No experience required! Everything will be provided for you. This is a 2.5 day workshop, with Kory Dollar of Marvelous Mosaic Fine Art, where you will start with custom framed window, approx 10″ x 15″ that will be transformed into a gorgeous work of art.
Students will learn her Three Step Fabrication Method® to simplify the steps in creating a Freestyle Blossom Tree®. We will discuss a unique strip cutting approach to break down the glass and maximize your waste. This is a wonderful opportunity to understand how to organize your mosaic from start to finish, breaking down each section into a layer of elements. Specific topics will include color theory and her NEWLY developed opacity rules. Kory will demonstrate several cutting techniques, including her signature one-cut-sliver cut and a glass shaving cutting style.
Local artist, Kory Dollar, is coming to Damascus, Oregon to teach at Phyllis Plury’s glass studio. She is known across the US for her outstanding creations in glass. I encourage you to visit her Facebook page, Marvelous Mosaic Fine Art and her website, http://www.marvelousmosaic.wordpress.com to see examples of her amazing artwork. She is really fun to work with and will bring a lot of energy to this class!

Food: Because of the location of the class, it works best if we do a potluck style for food. Friday night we will offer pulled pork sandwiches and a salad. We will have water, coffee, and tea available all weekend. I find that if everyone brings a dish then we can eat when we feel like it. When we don’t have to stop to order food the weekend goes a lot better. Most of the time we are all working so hard and we are so busy that finger foods work best.
