I am thrilled to introduce my latest creation, “Danali, Majesty in Glass.” This artwork is a sizable stained glass on glass mosaic, measuring 58″ x 42″ and framed in Teak Wood. It’s a vibrant, colorful piece that brings to life a scenic landscape, executed with a combination of earthy tones, shades of purple, and a dynamic array of other colors.
The central focus of “Danail, Majesty in Glass” is a prominent mountain. I used a mixture of earthy tones and varying shades of purple to give it character and depth, with patches of white crowning its peak, possibly hinting at snow. Below this majestic mountain unfolds a rolling landscape crafted with abstract trees and fields, rendered in rich greens and browns.
One of my favorite elements in this piece is the serene body of water stretching across the middle ground. It’s depicted with delicate shades of blue and purple, mirroring the sky and surroundings, creating a tranquil and reflective moment in the scene. The foreground is dotted with a diverse collection of wildflowers—reds, purples, yellows, and more—adding rich texture and depth. The sky, a mosaic of blues and whites, suggests a partly cloudy day, perfectly framing the mountain.
What makes this artwork truly special to me is the process I used to create it. This piece is not just another stained glass artwork; it’s a mosaic commission specifically created for a private residence in Idaho. One unique aspect of the process is the use of hand-cut stained glass pieces, meticulously assembled to match an original design inspired by Denali.
Creating “Danali, Majesty in Glass” was a rewarding challenge. It stretched my creativity and technical skills, and allowed me to explore new dimensions of stained glass art. I am excited to share this piece and am grateful for the opportunity to bring a touch of nature’s splendor into someone’s home through my art.
I hope you find as much joy and serenity in “Mountain Majesty in Glass” as I did in creating it.
