Vitrigraph Mastery: Exploring Creativity Through Confident Pulling
Dates: December 5-6 & December 12-13
Unlock the creative potential of vitrigraph in this immersive two-day workshop! Designed for both beginners and experienced glass artists, this class will build your confidence in pulling and teach you innovative techniques to create stunning vitrigraph elements for fusing, stained glass, and mosaics.
What You’ll Learn
- Master the Pulling Process – Gain confidence in handling vitrigraph and controlling the flow for consistent, high-quality results.
- Understand Essential Tools – Get familiar with the right tools to enhance precision and creativity in your pulls.
- Create Fine Art Elements – Learn how to develop unique design components while pulling, expanding your artistic possibilities.
- Load & Prepare the Vitrigraph Pot – Work in pairs to load five pots, selecting the correct bottom to influence color and design.
- Split & Share the Yield – On day two, pull from the loaded pots and divide approximately 2 lbs of vitrigraph per student.
Kory’s Unique Approach to Vitrigraph
This workshop introduces Kory’s innovative techniques for shaping vitrigraph elements while pulling. Using self-invented tools and specialty supplies, Kory has developed a distinctive method that allows for greater artistic control, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces for fused glass, stained glass, and mosaics.
Venue, Meals & Accommodations
- Meals Provided – A $75 non-optional venue and meal fee will be collected at the time of class. This covers:
- 1 Breakfast
- 2 Lunches
- 1 Dinner
- Snacks and refreshments available all weekend
- Lodging Options – Stay with us! Our venue/studio is fabulous, and you’ll get the full experience. Do not book a hotel—you won’t regret it!
- Studio Hours – Open until 10 PM each night, with instruction available until 5 PM.
- Unique Setting – The studio is inside a 2000 sq. ft. gymnasium, offering an inspiring artistic atmosphere.
Need to Know
- Packing List:
- Hard-bottom slippers if you’re staying overnight.
- Clothes you don’t mind getting messy—glue does not come out of fabric!
- Amenities Provided:
- Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash
- Pillows, bedding, and ear plugs
- Sleeping Arrangements:
- Bunks – Built into the walls, sturdy, cozy, with nearby outlets. (No AC in bunks or studio king room.)
- Private Room & Travel Trailer – Both have AC.
- Flying In?
- Lodging & transportation can be added to your package.
- Airport Transport: $75 each way (studio is 50 miles from the airport; Uber/Lyft not readily available).
Important Policies
- Pets: Pets live in the house (private room), but the shared studio is pet-free.
- Rescheduling & Cancellations:
- All reservations are final.
- If you need to cancel, you may reschedule within 6 months.
- If canceling within 45 days, your spot must be filled for full credit; partial credit will be given otherwise.
- If canceling within 15 days, credit is forfeited.
- Final payments are due 30 days prior to the event.
